Formanek Named Employee Of The Quarter Formanek Named Employee Of The Quarter

Roosevelt Medical Center has announced Melinda Formanek, the facility’s clinic receptionist, as the newest Employee of the Quarter.

She joined the RMC team in December 2020. Today, she is responsible for manning the clinic’s front desk while managing schedules and appointments for patients. She also helps direct them to the departments they need to go and serves as the point of contact between patients and medical staff.

“My goal is to make everyone’s day easier by being helpful, and by communicating often to ensure nothing gets missed for our patients,” she said. After working for 15-years from home as a transcriptionist, she said interacting with patients is her favorite part of the job.

Formanek tests the limits of multi-tasking and stickynote- taking. At any given time, several patients are holding on the telephone, and several more are walking through the lobby door, ready to check in. Simultaneously, patients are finishing up appointments, and need redirecting to other departments for follow-up tests. At the same time, staff are popping in with their own questions and requests. It’s a busy, yet typical day for her.

“Melinda excels at her job and is dedicated to the facility. She provides excellent customer services to patients and always has a welcoming smile on her face,” said Mandy Byrd, clinic manager. Byrd, along with several other staff members nominated her for the recognition.

Emma Scogins, a business office billing clerk, knows first-hand how difficult Formanek’s job can be when it gets busy. She is one of several staff members who fillsin as the clinic receptionist, when needed. “The way she can multi-task and keep the clinic running smoothly is very impressive. No matter how chaotic the day can get, Melinda handles it with grace and a smile,” Scogins said.

Formanek is originally from Colstrip. Her family moved to Wyoming for a few years and then decided they wanted to get back to Montana, so her husband accepted a job-transfer with Basin Electric in 2020. Together they have two grown children, Kole, and Conner.

“I am really shocked to receive this recognition. I always try to be very nice and communicative to everyone I meet. I come to work looking forward to visiting with the patients and assisting them whenever I can,” Formanek said.

Staff will have until the end of June to make nominations for the next employee of the quarter. A new nomination committee will be selected at that time to ensure more staff members are able to have input in the decision-making process. This is an effort to keep the selection process balanced and fair.
