Culbertson Council Approves ARPA Funds For Airport

The Culbertson Town Council held their regular meeting Tuesday, Oct. 12. The full council was in attendance.

Council members approved $20,000 for operations and maintenance at Big Sky Airport. It is the latest dispensation of American Rescue Plan Act funding in the community.

Two sketch/site plans were approved: a shed for Travis Northington and a fence/deck plan for Russell Riegler.

Assistant librarian Sabrina Shell’s resignation was accepted by the council.

Attorney Laura Christofferson spoke to the council about strategies for identifying and addressing blighted and/or dangerous housing and commercial properties within town limits. The conversation will be ongoing.

Audience members raised non-agenda items related to the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office budget and scheduling in and around Culbertson following a recent break-in.

Minutes, financials and claims for September were approved. The next regular council meeting is set for Nov. 8 at 6:30 p.m.
