Brockton High School Celebrates 12 Grads
The Brockton High School Class of 2025 was celebrated during a ceremony May 16, in the gym. This year’s graduates included Charles Clark, Alex Bull Calf, John Strange Owl, Maragaux Runs Through, Jasara Todd, Kale Dunphy, Rayaunna Track, Quannah First That Walks, Brycen Wilson, Diondre Youpee, Ava Lone Bear and Kameron Rattling Thunder.
Ava Lone Bear earned honors as the class valedictorian, with Maragaux Runs Through and Kameron Rattling Thunder sharing the title of co-salutatorian. Lone Bear, Runs Through and Rattling Thunder each addressed the audience, following remarks from speaker Tuffy First and an opening prayer from teacher Bernadette Wind. Superintendent Josh Patterson served as master of ceremonies and the processional/ recessionals was performed by the Badland Singers.
Tribal incentives and the Patty Bird Memorial Scholarship were presented by Terry Rattling Thunder. The BTA Scholarship was presented by Garnet Dionaldo.
Prior to the class slide show, seniors presented flowers to friends and family in the audience.
Diplomas were presented to graduates by Patterson and a selection of parents and close relations.
The class motto this year was by Ana Huang: “The greatest gift we have is time. Use it wisely.” The class colors were green, black and white and the class flower was a stargazer lily.
Following the ceremony, audience members formed a reception line to greet the new graduates.
