Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report
The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 160 calls from June 1-8.
The calls included the following: June 1
At about 2:30 a.m., deputies and the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice were patrolling Wolf Point and pursued a black pickup that took off on Sixth Avenue North and then traveled on County Road 2061. The pickup was driven south onto a wheat field where it got stuck in the mud northwest of the Greenwood Cemetery. FPTDLJ used a baton to strike a vehicle’s window to gain access to the driver. Drug paraphernalia was found in the vehicle. Taken to the tribal adult jail were Donte Martell, Meagan Clark, Terrell Hamilton and Angelina Welch.
June 2
Deputies responded to Wolf Point tribal housing for a domestic disturbance. Frederick Cantrell III, 23, was arrested for partner or family member assault.
June 5
Deputies responded to the Poplar city limits for a report of an aggravated assault. The caller said she heard metal hitting something. Law enforcement found that a male was assaulted with a golf club. He was taken to the hospital. FPTDLJ arrested an adult male and female and took them to the tribal jail.
June 6
Deputies assisted FPTDLJ, the Wolf Point Volunteer Fire Department and the Montana Highway Patrol at the scene of a fatality crash.
June 7
Deputies received a report from a handicapped male in Poplar’s city limits that a male and female were trying to break into his house. FPTDLJ also arrived on the scene. The suspects fled by foot. The investigation is continuing.
