Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report
The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 136 cases between Sept. 7-14.
The calls included the following: Sept. 7
Deputies responded to Brockton for a report of an underage female consuming alcohol. The juvenile was charged with underage drinking and disorderly conduct. She was transported to the BIA juvenile detention center.
Sept. 8
Deputies and the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice were dispatched to the Poplar Middle School where an adult reported that a white gravel truck went by and sprayed rocks everywhere. The caller’s windshield was broken. The vehicle was identified and a report was submitted to the court.
Sept. 10
Two deputies were patrolling near the North Dakota state line and heard about an adult male possibly breaking his probation. Russell Becker, 49, of Billings was arrested for criminal possession of dangerous drugs and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sept. 12
Deputies assisted FPTDLJ regarding a traffic crash south of Poplar. The vehicle went into the ditch. A person was bleeding from the head. The Montana Highway Patrol and Poplar ambulance also responded.
Sept. 13
Deputies assisted FPTDLJ in the Poplar airport addition housing for a report of a domestic fight. A male was arrested. A female was transported to the Poplar hospital.
Deputies and FPTDLJ were notified of a possible kidnapping/ abduction in Poplar regarding a juvenile female. Six deputies and six FPTDLJ officers searched from the female. She was located in the Poplar airport addition housing. The case is still under investigation.
Sept. 14
Dispatch was called regarding a fire at abandoned housing for the Lindsey Memorial Presbyterian Church in Poplar. The fire marshal was called to conduct an investigation.
