Eastern Montana residents dealt with extreme heat conditions on Sunday, July 12, including some record-breaking temperatures.

The National Weather Service in Glasgow reported that Circle experienced an all-time record high of 112 degrees. The previous record was 109 degrees on July 14, 2002, and Aug. 7, 1983.

It was also reported that Forysth had an all-time state record high temperature of 118 degrees. That mark will need to be verified by the National Weather Service.

Other high temperatures reported included 115 in Glendive and Miles City, 113 in Terry and Roundup, and 112 in Melstone and Winnett.

Having highs of 111 degrees were Billings, Laurel, Hardin, Sidney and the Crow Agency. Fort Peck reported a high temperature of 110 degrees. Areas at 109 degrees were Baker, Columbus, Jordan and Roy.

Wolf Point reached 108 degrees. Other highs in the area included Poplar at 105, Glasgow at 102, Medicine Lake at 101, Plentywood at 95 and Scobey at 95 degrees. Roosevelt County Commissioner Gordon Oelkers reported 109 degrees at his residence in Culbertson.
