Myers Helps Community By Serving As Firefighter
Bainville Senior Profile
Bainville High School senior Morgan Myers cares about the community, and that shows as she has become a volunteer firefighter at a young age.
Myers explains that her parents took her to a fire department meeting, and she became interested in helping out.
“I thought it was cool, so I signed up for it,” Myers said.
She first became a junior firefighter, which youngsters can do as soon as age 16. When she turned 18 in June, she officially became a volunteer firefighter.
Myers has responded to a couple of calls already for the fire department.
“It’s cool how we get ready so fast to go,” Myers noted. “It’s a lot of teamwork.”
Other females on the Bainville Volunteer Fire Department are her mother, Vicki Myers, and Victoria Norton.
At school, Morgan’s favorite class is English. She likes the books that has been part of the class and the way that instructor Sarah Morales teaches.
After school, Myers is busy working at The Welcome Stop.
Myers moved from Lakeview, Ore., to Bainville in the sixth grade.
“It’s a really nice community here,” Myers said.
Her plans after high school are still up in the air. “I haven’t figured it out yet,” she said.
