Senior Profile
Culbertson High School senior Gavin Raaum has been a solid member of the school’s pep band throughout the years.
He has played the tuba since the sixth grade. He also plays the sousaphone.
In addition, Raaum has performed in several music festivals. “It’s gone all right,” he said of the festivals. Recently, he was picked for the District 12 honor band and choir festival held in Glasgow.
After the school day, you can find Raaum working at Val Am in Culbertson. He has worked there for three years and appreciates the flexible hours.
His favorite subject is Cold War Class taught by David Solem.
“It’s history and it’s interesting,” Raaum said.
He has attended school in Culbertson since kindergarten.
“The school, I’ve heard, is better than other schools as far as quality,” he said.
After high school, he is considering a career in the repair field.
“Plans are to survive and maybe get in a trade,” Raaum said.
