County Moves To Everbridge For Emergency Alerts
Roosevelt County commissioners approved switching to Everbridge to serve as the area’s emergency mass notification system during their meeting last week.
Commissioners and DES coordinator Lindsey McNabb decided to move from the CodeRed system due to concerns when some jurisdictions encountered cyberattack issues last year.
Cost for the Everbridge system is $3,600 annually. According to information supplied by the company, Everbridge Mass Notification is supported by state-of-the-art security protocols, elastic infrastructure, advanced mobility, interactive reporting, adaptive people and resource mapping.
McNabb will provide a public notice to instruct residents how to sign up for Everybridge through an app.
Also during the meeting, commissioners approved a bid of $194,449 from Bishop Inc., Malta, for the hydrant replacement project in Brockton. There were five bids for the project.
Commissioner Gordon Oelkers is hopeful that the hydrant and valve project will improve the water pressure problems in the community.
Payment will be made through three county funds designated for Brockton.
Commissioners approved $7,217 for a new copier in the courthouse’s lobby. Currently, only one of the copiers work in the lobby.
Commissioners Robert Toavs and Doug Marottek provided a report of the mid-winter conference held by the Montana Association of Counties. After attending a committee meeting for reservation counties, commissioners are pleased that Roosevelt County has a more positive relationship with tribes than commissioners experience in other counties.
Oelkers was in Washington, D.C. as a representative for MACo. He said a lot of different legislative policies were discussed.
