Culbertson School Board Approves Staff Hires
The Culbertson School District Board of Trustees met in regular session on Tuesday, Feb. 17, at 6:30 p.m. Trustees present were Chair Chris Petersen, Wendy Becker, Amber Fox, Lisa Steppler and Verlin Steppler. Representatives were Nicole Simonsen, Mike Olson and Lora Finnicum. Visitors were recognized.
A motion was approved to pay the February bills, approve investments, note cash and extra-curricular balances.
Reports were presented. Fifth grade did its egg drop in the gym for a lesson on gravity. Science Fair was held with 125 entries and Student Council assisted. Eighth graders participated in the Math Counts and performed well. Simonsen gave update on the Education Apprenticeship Program. A motion was passed to approve resignations from Clayton Marchwick and Pam Welch.
Jenna Bowker was approved for hire as elementary/junior high track assistant coach.
Tenure teaching contracts were approved for Milt Apple, Janelle Ator, Amy Berwick, Courtney Forbregd (10 day extended), Jeri Gustafson, Angela Iverson, Theresa McDonald, Darla Mogga, Jimie Lou Morris, Wendy Nickoloff, Brad Nielsen, Tiffany Nielsen, Christina Olson, Shelly Panasuk, Russell Pfeifer, David Solem, Elizabeth Standley, Jennesy Taberna, and Lee Vandall. Non-tenure teaching contracts were offered to Katie Clausen, Khrista Corpron (30 day extended), Kelly Evenson, Shelby Manning, Aaliyah Moon, Sara Schmidt and April Wills. An elementary teaching contract was offered to Heather Harrison for the 2026-2027 School Year.
The junior high/high school principal contract for 2026-2027 was approved for Mike Olson.
A motion was passed to approve the 2026-2027 curriculum director contract and elementary principal contract for Parenteau.
Notice for public comment for non-agenda items was given.
The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, at 6:30 p.m.
