Culbertson Council Meets

The Culbertson Town Council held its regular meeting Jan. 12 at the town hall building on Broadway Avenue.

Following the approval of meeting minutes, financials and claims, council members heard updates about construction on the municipal bathhouse project, which is nearly complete. The town has received $27,586.75 in tax levy for the bathhouse. After all the grant money is received to date, there will be a surplus of just over $4,000 for finish work.

Catherine Donaldson, Hugh Donaldson and James Walling were appointed to form a local government review study commission, with meeting dates pending.

The council discussed options for workers compensation insurance. New rates come out in April and the council will consider the matter again at that point.

Bobbie Schuler with Montana Rural Water appeared on Zoom to go over the rate review conducted in November. The matter was tabled until the February meeting.

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office report included 51 calls for service, one arrest and 21 citations.

The next meeting is set for Feb. 9 at 6:30 p.m.
