Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 88 calls from Nov. 24 to Dec. 1.

The calls included the following: Nov. 24

Deputies took a complaint in Poplar from a female regarding a restraining order violation. The deputy took her statement.

Deputies received a report in the Fort Kipp area regarding a power line throwing sparks. Sheridan Electric dispatched an employee to check out the lines.

Deputies assisted Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice at Poplar tribal housing regarding an individual throwing snowballs at a home and reportedly having a weapon. The male was cited to tribal court.

Deputies received a report from Poplar tribal housing about a missing juvenile female. She was reportedly intoxicated and left the house that afternoon. She was entered into the system as a missing person.

Nov. 25

Deputies responded to a property just outside of Wolf Point’s city limits. Footprints were seen at the property despite a no trespassing sign. The landowner requested extra patrol.

On the request of FPTDLJ, deputies transported an adult female to tribal jail.

Deputy/coroner went to the Roosevelt Medical Center in Culbertson for a report of an attended death. Approval was given to transport the body back to Sheridan County.

Nov. 26

Deputies received a report in Poplar of an unauthorized use of a credit card. An employee of a business notified the victim that a woman was in possession of the credit card. The information was submitted to the Fort Peck tribal prosecutor’s office for charges of theft.

Deputies assisted the Wolf Point Police Department at Cenex East where an adult man got into an argument with another male at the gas pumps. The male claimed that the other male threatened to stab him. Law enforcement requested a security video footage from the store.

Deputies responded to the Buckhorn Bar in Poplar on a report of a male saying he was punched in the face by another male. The case is still under investigation.

Nov. 27

Deputies and FPTDLJ responded outside of Wolf Point for a fight in progress. An adult male took off at a high rate of speed. The Montana Highway Patrol, deputies and FPTDLJ were unable to locate the vehicle.

Nov. 28

Deputies located a car stuck in a ditch on U.S. Highway 2, mile marker 608. The driver said someone was coming to help him.

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ at Tande’s grocery store in Poplar where an adult female said a male driver attempted to hit another adult male’s vehicle. Later, FPTDLJ took a statement from the driver.

Nov. 29

Deputies responded to north of Brockton where there was an allegation of trespassing on land. The incident is still under investigation.

Deputies responded to the Culbertson area where a pickup truck ran off the road. There were no injuries. The driver and passenger were transported to Brockton.

Nov. 30

Deputies, Wolf Point ambulance and the Montana Highway Patrol responded to a one vehicle crash at Bridge Park. One person was taken to the emergency room.

Deputies and the Montana Highway Patrol were called to the scene for a vehicle in the ditch on U.S. Highway 2 between Fort Kipp and Brockton. The female driver was transported to Culbertson.

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s report activity statistics for the past week were: Wolf Point city limits, five; Wolf Point, rural, four; Poplar city limits, 22; Poplar FPHA all other, six; Poplar, rural, 12; Culbertson town, 10; Culbertson rural, four; Bainville town, one; Bainville rural, four; Froid rural, one; Richland County, two; Brockton town, one; Brockton rural, 14; Fort Kipp, two; total, 88.
