Educators Gather For Training In Helena

The Montana Chamber Foundation hosted its Professional Development-Rise Up with Empowered event in Helena over the past weekend. In total, 38 educators visited from across the state, with multiple teachers from area schools attending.
“We had such a fun time in Helena with amazing teachers from across the state,” MCF workforce specialist Tiana Yates told the Community News. “When asking various educators in attendance what makes a MCF/Empowered professional development different, they all said that they love how instead of being ‘talked at’ the whole time, they were experiencing the activities they’ll be having their students do. They also enjoyed that we program through dinner time so they are able to network with other teachers in a relaxed space.”
Yates said the training opportunities are designed to offer practical experience and educational tools.
“The MCF and Empowered believe in the learning by doing model,” Yates said. “It’s effective for teachers and their students and provides more real world, hands on experiences.”
Empowered is a nationally recognized program that enhances education to instill employability traits and principles to help prepare our future workforce. For more information, write to Tiana@montanachamber@ com or james@montanachamber. com. Local educators can also contact Machart directly.
