Red Hawks Down Jordan On Thursday

Froid/Lake scored a quarter- final round victory over a strong Jordan squad, 25-19, 19-25, 25-23, 25-22, during the Eastern C divisional volleyball tournament held in Sidney on Thursday, Nov. 4.

The Red Hawks trailed early in the first set, but tied the match, 11-11, on the hard hitting of Dasani Nesbit. Four kills by Carolyne Christoffersen led Froid/Lake to a 1615 advantage.

A kill and a block by Mara Salvevold put Froid/Lake up by an 18-15 advantage. A kill by Nesbit increased the margin to 20-17.

Ahead by only a 21-19 margin, the Red Hawks accounted for the last four points of the first set on a kill by Jaeleigh Davidson, two kills by Nesbit and a spike by Meg Ator.

After losing the second set, the Red Hawks fell behind by a 6-1 margin in the third set. The net play of Christoffersen led Froid/Lake back to 8-7. The Red Hawks were able to tie the set at 17-17 and then went ahead on a tip by Baylee Davidson.

Jordan gained a 23-22 lead, but the Red Hawks accounted for the set’s final three points including two on kills by Nesbit.

Kills by J. Davidson and Nesbit led Froid/Lake to a 7-0 advantage in the fourth set. The Red Hawks were able to increase their lead to 16-9 on kills by Nesbit.

After Jordan pulled to 1814, two kills and a block by Christoffersen put the margin at 21-15. Christoffersen then scored two kills for a 2319 advantage.

Froid/Lake’s final two points of the match came on kills by Mara Salvevold and Nesbit.
