Residents Experienced Many Hot September Days

It was a strange September as area residents experienced more hot days in the month than usual this year.

According to the National Weather Service, Wolf Point had eight days than reached 90 degrees or higher during September. The highest temperatures were 99 degrees on Sept. 18, and 97 degrees on Sept. 19. The mercury also reached 90 degrees or warmer on eight September days in Culbertson. The high was 96 degrees on Sept. 18.

Record high temperatures reported on Tuesday, Sept. 28, included Culbertson at 94 degrees, Sidney at 97, Circle at 91, Terry at 91 and Glendive at 95. The National Weather Service said that this year’s September ranks as one of the seventh warmest for our region in history.. The forecast for this week reads that highs should be in the 70s with lows in the low 40s.

Experts are predicting above normal temperatures and below normal precipitation for October.
