Culbertson Airport To Receive Improvement Grant

The Culbertson airport, Big Sky Field, will receive $396,900 through Airport Improvement Program funding in the government funding and COVID-19 relief package.

U.S. Sen. Steve Daines, R-Mont., announced the grants last week. He secured the funding for the relief package during December.

“As air travel begins to pick up and Montana prepares for a busy summer season, I’m glad to see local airports receive this support,” Daines said. “These grants will help Montana airports with important infrastructure upgrades and expansions necessary for the rapidly growing demand.”

The funds for the Culbertson airport will go toward acquiring snow removal equipment, sealing apron pavement surface/pavement joints, sealing runway pavement surface/ pavement joints and sealing taxiway pavement surface/pavement joints.

Other Montana airports receiving funds include $1,193,410 in Anaconda, $1,800,000 in Billings, $3,751,261 in Bozeman, $75,000 in Broadus, $195,000 in Chinook, $150,000 in Columbus, $150,000 in Forsyth, $2,750,000 in Geraldine, $261,000 in Hardin, $250,000 in Havre, $150,000 in Livingston, $312,750 in Malta, $350,000 in Plains and $161,305 in Shelby.
