Ike’s Pond Soon To Be Stocked

Town of Culbertson public works director Bob Jasper has relocated the rocks along the shoreline at Ike’s Fishing Pond and Walking Trail in Culbertson. The pond level is now considered full.

Funds continue to be sought to settle up with contractor Hurley’s Oilfield Service. At the March 12 Town Council meeting, Ken Forbregd said donations to the project have been generous, but more are needed to honor the community’s debts in a timely fashion.

According to Forbregd, Ike’s will be stocked with fish by staff from Fish, Wildlife and Parks at the end of the April or the first part of May. He said FWP will restock the pond throughout the year.

Lighting options for the pond parking lot and adjacent areas have been before the council for several months. A vote is planned for the April 12 meeting.
