Poplar’s girls’ basketball squad dropped conference games against Malta and Glasgow during the weekend. Poplar’s girls’ basketball team lost to a strong Malta squad, 78-36, on Friday, Jan. 14. Malta gained a 22-4 advantage in the first quarter. The Indians closed the margin to 34-22 during the second quarter. The M-ettes then struck for 27 points in the third quarter for a 61-30 lead.

Shot clocks and baseball were given approval during the Montana High School Association’s annual meeting in Butte on Monday, Jan. 17. Schools voted the addition of 35-second shot clocks for boys’ and girls’ basketball. In addition, baseball was approved as a sport for the Montana High School Association.
