Patrick Mckay, 52, of Poplar died July 13, 2025. He was born in California on June 7, 1973, to Phoebe Melbourne and Patrick “Boy Boy” Mckay. He spent most of his life in Brockton before he moved to Poplar. He attended school in Wahpeton, N.D., and Flandreau, S.D., along with his sister Theresa Mckay. He loved to listen to heavy metal music. There was never a dull moment with him. He was high spirited and loved a sense of adventure. He always loved his walks and visited with all who crossed in his path. He also loved hanging out with family and friends. You would always see him outside of Frostees sweeping and making sure the parking lot was clean for the community. He is survived by his daughter, Melody Bear of Brockton; sons, Walter Loves Him of Oklahoma, Nikolas, Cameron and Connor Ogle of Poplar; seven grandchildren; brothers, John Walking Eagle of Billings and Larry Hamilton of Poplar. He was preceded in death by his sister, Thresea Mckay; and brother, Daniel Mckay. His funeral service was held Monday, July 21, at the Poplar Cultural Center with interment at Riverside Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point.

Doreen Rene Sudbrack Worley, 87, passed away July 9, 2025, at her home in Nampa, Idaho. Rene was born Sept. 20, 1937, in Malta, Mont. She was the second child of Reinhard and Hattie (Iverson) Sudbrack of Saco. Rene grew up on the family homestead five miles north of Saco on Milk River. Along with her siblings, she helped her parents farm, ranch and tend to the infinite tasks of Montana agricultural life. During her years as a Saco Panther, Rene participated in a variety of activities, including music. She was acknowledged for her piano and organ accompaniment for her schoolmates. After graduating as salutatorian in 1955, she moved to Glasgow where she met her future husband, Charles “Chuck” Worley. Chuck secured work from the Montana Highway Department and because of job requirements, Chuck and Rene lived in many towns including Malta (twice), Wolf Point (twice), Glasgow (twice), Opheim, Scobey, Culbertson and Deer Lodge. Along the way, Nancy and Jerry were born. By 1968, the family landed in Wolf Point for the second time. To avoid another move, Chuck retired from the highway department in 1971 and, with Rene’s help, purchased the Sears Catalog Store — and eventually self-identified as Wolf Pointers for 50 years. In 1972, Mark was born, and the family was now complete. For decades, Rene was involved in community volunteerism where she and Chuck met many treasured friends. They volunteered for rodeos, church undertakings, youth activities and civic causes. They were founding members of Wolf Point’s annual Clean Sweep. They were also charter participants with the Wolf Point Athletic Association, which was instrumental in building the school’s sports complex on Lowry Field and the original all-weather track. For these and other unassuming efforts, the couple was selected as Grand Marshals for the 2014 Wolf Point Wild Horse Stampede Rodeo. Beyond the community, Rene worked with the Montana Legislature and the U.S. Congress in securing laws for the protection of the elderly from financial exploitation. She took several trips to Washington, D.C., as a national representative for AARP to help with the cause. Rene was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, Curtis; and brother Phillip (Karla). She is survived by her husband, Chuck; children, Nancy (LaVar), Jerry (Peggy) and Mark (Becky); sister, Norma (Ted); brothers, Cecil (Sharon) and Dale (Elena); grandchildren, Jake, Bret, Dawn and Alex; and numerous beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends. Words cannot express how much we thank you for the outpouring of sympathy, love, support and prayers. We are grateful. Our mom would be honored if we celebrated a well-lived life by sharing a smile with those around us as often as possible. A celebration of Rene’s life will take place on Saturday, Sept. 13, at 1 p.m. at the I.O.O.F. Hall in Saco. Memorials for the family may be left to the charity of your choice. Barbara Anne (Crohn) Wivholm, 92, of Plentywood died July 13, 2025. She was born March 20, 1933, in Plentywood to Henry J. and Ingeborg B. Knudsen Crohn of the Volmer - Dagmar community. She was the oldest of three children. She grew up on the Crohn ranch. She attended Franklin Elementary School and graduated from Medicine Lake High School. She married John Wivholm on Sept. 26, 1950. They raised seven children and she was a stay-at-home mom until the children got older. She enjoyed combine rides at harvest and taking meals to the fields. She was meticulous with her floors and lawn. She could spot a crumb or stick many feet away — she had wonderful eyesight. A very dedicated fan, she attended Honker and Redhawk games and listened on the radio when she could. She also took some adult education classes of calligraphy and exercise. She worked the lunch counter at Lake Bowl when bowling became the popular sport. She also worked at the Laketonian restaurant and did housekeeping at Sheridan Memorial Nursing Home. She was active in the Union Congregational Church from Sunday school with her children through Women’s Ladies Aid. If she was a member of an organization, she didn’t want to miss a meeting. She was a charter member of the VFW Auxiliary in Medicine Lake and served as treasurer for many years. Senior Citizens and Red Hats were a fun time to socialize in the later years. She gathered news items for the Plentywood Herald and reported the Medicine Lake weather temperatures to the Williston, N.D., TV station. She and John enjoyed traveling to the various states to visit family. One of the highlights of their lives was Thanksgiving 1994 when all the Wivholms flew to Florida to spend the holiday with David and Brenda. Another milestone event was in summer of 2000 when she and John celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She spent three years at the Pioneer Manor before she relocated to La Casa in Plentywood in 2020. She was preceded by her husband, John; and brother, John Crohn. She is survived by her children, Janet McCabe of Medicine Lake, David Wivholm of Cape Canaveral, Fla., Duane Wivholm of Bismarck, N.D., Nancy Niemann of Nolanville, Texas, Dallas Wivholm of Grass Valley, Calif., Jeff Wivholm of the family farm and Mary Anne Stream of Anchorage, Alaska; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother, Don Crohn of Florida. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 19, at the Medicine Lake Fire Hall. Interment at the Medicine Lake Cemetery followed the service.
