Poplar Wrestlers Win Titles In Glasgow
The Poplar Indians earned second place with 82 points in the girls’ division at the Scottie Invitational in Glasgow on Saturday, Dec. 13.
Glasgow topped the standings with 106 points.
Three Poplar wrestlers took first-place honors at the meet.
Alara Cooper earned first place at 115/120 pounds. Cooper won all four of her matches on pins.
Laityn Allen took first place at 110 pounds. Allen won two matches on pins and she outpointed Glasgow’s Riley Pedersen, 7-3, on a decision.
Liberty Boadle placed first at 120/125 pounds. Boadle won three matches on pins.
Stacy Simons took second place at 170 pounds.
Placing third were Masina Youpee at 145 and Samantha Black Eagle at 140.
Taking fourth were Harley Daniels at 120/125 and Lalla Lovan at 155.
In the boys’ meet, Poplar placed seventh with 36.5 points. Sidney was first with 349.5 points.
Rollen Spotted Bull placed third at 285 pounds.
Placing fourth were Clayton Montclair at 157 and Jayden Eder at 175 pounds.
Taking sixth were Dustin Smith at 126/132 and Grayson Cuellar at 157.
