Jeffery “Stuffy” Walking Eagle Sr., 32, of Wolf Point died Oct. 15, 2022, at Trinity Hospital. He was born Sept. 21, 1990, to John L. Walking Eagle Sr. and Hattie L. Shoots. He grew up in Brockton with grandmother Theresa. He then moved to Poplar with his father in 2000, before finally settling down in Wolf Point with his mother. He went to school at Brockton elementary school, Wahpeton Indian school and Poplar school. He loved to be around his children, family and friends. He also enjoyed the days he spent with his sister Jonelle, brother Shuggz and niece Sean De’Ja in Bismarck, N.D. He was always joking or kidding with his nieces and nephews. He liked to go for walks to go check out his friends that were out about too. He worked at Taco Bell in Bismarck N.D., and Albertsons in Wolf Point. Emily Marie Walker Brown, 24, died Oct. 12, 2022. She was born Oct. 12, 1998, in Great Falls and was raised in Wolf Point. She went to school in Wolf Point and Brockton. During her time in school, she played basketball with her sisters, KayLiegh, Cheryl and Codi. She loved being around her sisters and playing sports with them. She also joined boxing at the Boys and Girls Club. She also liked learning her Oceti Sakowia culture and language. She attended many ceremonies throughout her life, inipis-sweats, uwipis and sundances, dancing and praying for her families. She was a jingle dress dancer and, in her younger years, and attended many wacipis celebrations. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bertha Walker of Macey, Neb.; and sister, Kimimila Brown of Wolf Point. Elisabeth Nicole Garcia Wambdi Chinja Wi (Eagle Child Woman), 42, of Billings died at her home. She was the only child born to Florence McGeshick Garcia and Nicolas Garcia. She was a Southside Girl. She was an enrolled member of the Sokaogon Chippewa Community of Mole Lake, Wis., and was proud of her Native and Mexican heritage. She excelled in academics at all levels. She was brilliant, funny, kind, generous and beautiful. She helped everyone, especially the underdog. She attended Billings Senior High and received her GED. Laura Jean Caldwell, 85, of Culbertson died Oct. 21, 2022. She was born Oct. 15, 1937, in Culbertson to Bennie and Edith Antonson. Being the oldest of four, she was raised on the family farm south of Culbertson. She attended country school and later attended school in Culbertson, graduating in 1955. In 1958, she met her future husband Vernon Caldwell as he had traveled to Montana to visit his sister Vivian. As Vernon returned home to Oklahoma, she was not far behind. They were married April 17, 1959, in Steigler, Okla. They lived in Oklahoma for a short time where their son Danny was born in 1959. They then moved to Culbertson where their daughter Diane was born in 1960. In 1963, they moved to Seeley Lake, where she along with Vernon were employed at the Catholic Diocese of Helena at Legendary Lodge for boys and girls youth where she was the cook. Each day, they had to take a boat across Salmon Lake to get to work. She then went to work at a place nearby called the Clearwater Junction and cooked there for several years as well. In 1972, the opportunity came to move back to Culbertson
