Hannah Struttmann taught in Wolf Point prior to her re-entry into local schools this year at both Northside and Southside schools. She told the Northern Plains Independent

that her interest in teaching began early on as a student.

“I discovered my love for teaching during my high school years,” said Struttmann. “Each day, I spent time in a fourth grade classroom as a teacher’s aide. I gained certainty that I would enjoy a career in teaching.”

Struttmann received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Colorado Christian University. Along with teaching, she said, her past as a cross country athlete factors in when it comes to hobbies.

“I continue to enjoy running now, as well as reading,” she said.

After graduating college, Struttmann taught first grade for two years in Wolf Point before returning to Colorado. “Last year, I moved close to my family in Colorado and taught second grade. This year, I am happy to return to Wolf Point and teach first grade again.”

Struttmann said her religious faith guided her back to Southside.

“I moved here the first time because I asked where He wanted me to go, and this was the place. I have returned because I knew that this is where He still wanted me to be, even if it meant sacrificing some things I wanted.”
