Wolf Point Seeks Council Member

Since Lance FourStar resigned from the Wolf Point City Council during its June meeting, Mayor Chris Dschaak has yet to find a replacement to serve as a Ward 4 council member.

Dschaak says the ward consists of Highway 2 north and then west of Fourth Avenue North.

The responsibilities of a council member include attending the monthly meeting and then also serving as a committee member.

“On average, no more than two meetings a month,” Dschaak said.

FourStar posted on social media, “Thank You to the mayor of Wolf Point, my fellow council people, and the great volunteers of our fire department and our employees. It’s been an honor taking the oath of office at the beginning of my terms and I will always adhere to these principles. It’s been an honor.”

On a different note, Dschaak was pleased with this summer’s recreation activities offered in Wolf Point.

“Baseball and softball leagues went really well,” the mayor said. “The pool went well.”

His understanding is that Wolf Point will offer the chance to play flag football instead of soccer this fall. A poll on Facebook by the Wolf Point City Pool & Rec. had 65 percent voting for flag football and 35 percent picking soccer.

“There will be posts abut it,” Dschaak said of the flag football league.
