With five students in the program, the Wolf Point speech and drama team will compete at its second meet on Saturday, Dec. 11.

The Wolves will travel to Laurel on Saturday, Dec. 11, and to Culbertson on Saturday, Dec. 18, “The kids we have are pretty dedicated,” the team’s advisor Wendy Connelley said.

The squad includes senior Daniel Sears, who is on the team for his third year, and sophomore Del Eymard, who is on the team for his second year.

Sears won the Class B state championship in spontaneous oral interpretation last season.

Eymard and Sears are competing in spontaneous oral interpretation this year.

Ryan Schumacher, a sophomore, is competing in humorous solo. Chase Adams, a freshman, and freshman Ryver Summers are competing in oral humorous interpretation.

“We have all humor,” Connelley said of selected categories. “I don’t know why, but I’m game.”

Jacob Boysun is serving as the program’s assistant coach on a virtual basis and will also be at some meets.

The divisional meet is scheduled in Plentywood on Jan. 22, and the state competition is Jan. 28-29, at Huntley Project.

Wolf Point plans to have a home showcase on Jan. 13.
