Man Found Guilty In Unlicensed Outfitting Operation
Wendall Matson of Birch Run, Mich., has made a “no contest” plea and was subsequently found guilty on charges of multiple infractions related to illegally outfitting in Phillips and Valley counties. Matson was ordered to pay more than $10,000 in fines and restitution and has lost his privileges to hunt, fish or trap for 18 months in Montana and all states that are part of the Interstate Wildlife

Two changes were made to the phased COVID-19 vaccine distribution plan this month, one by the state, and the other by the federal government.

attended Southview Grade School in Vida, Mont., and graduated from Wolf Point High School.
He maintained his love of the farm-life after graduating high school by working on wheat and dairy farms.
After farming, he moved on to truck driving, and drove until shortly before his passing.
Tracy lived simply and followed the Golden Rule throughout life. He treated others with compassion and kindness. Tracy will be remembered for his gentleness and giving spirit.
A memorial is planned to celebrate Tracy's life later this summer.

Tracy is survived by his four sisters, Alberta (Jay) Therkilsen of Brandon, Fla., June (Dean) Jensen of Billings, Mont., Julie (Mitchell) Schweigert of Miles City, Mont., and Nancy Ware of Kennewick, Wash.; and one brother, Kenneth (Kathy) Ware of Vancouver, Wash. Tracy had nine nieces and nephews, as well as 11 great-nieces and -nephews.
He was preceded in death by father, Kenneth; mother, Margaret; sister, Theresa Felton; and brother, Donald.

Lawmakers on Capitol Hill are considering a bill that would change the makeup of the state Fish and Wildlife Commission — a group made up of members of the public appointed by the governor to help shape how the state manages wildlife and public lands.
The commission is also responsible for approving any transfer of land involving the state.

A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, March 19, at the Poplar Cultural Center. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 20, at the Poplar Cultural Center. Interment will follow at the Riverside Presbyterian Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
