County Seeks Dispatch Employees

One of the first vital factors for the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office to respond to crimes or emergency situations is having quality dispatchers receiving the calls. Right now, the sheriff’s office is struggling to fill those critical positions. At fully staff, the office has 10 dispatchers. Currently, there are four open dispatching spots. “We can’t seem to keep them,”

County Adds To Cattle Guard Resolution

Roosevelt County commissioners approved an addition to the county’s cattle guard resolution, which was originally approved in February. The resolution noted that if maintenance is required on cattle guards, Roosevelt County will complete the repairs and bill the beneficiary of the cattle guard, landowner or permittee. A live museum parade and corresponding events are being hosted at Legion Park in Poplar by Fort Peck Tribes Cultural Resource Department staff. CRD director Dyan Youpee told the Northern Plains Independent that a live museum and parade with payouts for different walking categories is set for Sept. 23. Organizers are seeking participants.
