Fatalities Up In State For 2021

The amount of fatality crashes in Montana was higher than in 2019 or 2020, according to a report from the Montana Highway Patrol. There were 240 fatalities in the state during 2021 that number compares to 213 in 2020 and 184 in 2019. Of those 240 deaths, 56 came on the interstate, 74 occurred on primary roads, 46 happened on rural roads, 29 came on secondary roads and 35 occurred on urban

County Reports 141 Active COVID Cases

Roosevelt County has 141 active cases as of Tuesday, Jan. 25. There have been 69 COVID-related deaths in the county. The highest number of total active cases during the week was 155 on Saturday, Jan. 22. Bainville broke away in the second half to down Brockton, 52-30, during boys’ basketball play in Brockton on Saturday, Jan. 22. Red Hawks Sweep Non-Conference Contests Against Frazer Squads

Froid/Lake swept both home basketball contests against Frazer on Saturday, Jan. 22. In the boys’ game, the Red Hawks won by an 80-12 final. Froid/Lake gained a 32-4 lead in the first quarter. Mason Dethman and Javonne Nesbit each scored 11 points in the opening quarter. The Red Hawks increased the margin to 54-7 in the second period. Ashdyn Hobbs hit seven points in the quarter.

Bainville’s girls basketball team lost to league-leading Plentywood by a 64-21 final on Friday, Jan. 21. The Wildcats led 18-10 at the end of the first quarter and by a 38-10 half-time margin.
