Poplar Girls Look Forward To Season Under New Coach
The Poplar girls’ basketball squad appears to be on the right track for having a very good season.
Teri Christian has returned to serve as the program’s head coach. She has been involved for the squad the previous four years. Prior to that, she coached for four years and then took an eight-year break.

Poplar Boys Aim To Rebound For Good Year
With six returning players who saw a good deal of court time last season, Poplar’s boys basketball team should be a strong threat in District 2B this season.
The top returning players include Wilfred Lambert, Kayden Lambert, Inyan Growing Thunder, Isaiah Gray Bear, Preston Ogle and Dennis Red Eagle.
“I think they all started at some point last season,” Poplar coach Frank Gourneau said.

Hoop Shoot Winners

Wolves Building Improved Wrestling Program
The Wolf Point High School’s wrestling program started practice on Monday, Dec. 7, with an impressive turnout of 11 wrestlers.
Coach Scott Vandall, entering his fourth season as head coach, is excited because this is the largest turnout during that time.
“We’re trying to build it,” Vandall said of the program. “We get good support from our A.D.”

Junior High Athletes Honored In Wolf Point
Wolf Point honored its junior high athletes during a ceremony on Monday, Dec. 7. Participants for football, volleyball, cross country and girls’ basketball were recognized.

Lady Wolves Look Forward To Campaign
Under the guidance of a new head coach, the Wolf Point girls’ basketball team looks for a strong season this school year.
The Wolves began practice on Monday, Dec. 7, under the direction of coach Jon Kolstad. He was born and raised in Wolf Point and now lives in Glasgow.
Kolstad’s career includes about 20 years coaching basketball and baseball. He coached at the high school level in Glasgow.

Wolves Start Practice For Boys’ Basketball Season
The Wolf Point boys’ basketball team enters the campaign with the goal of repeating as district champions. Practice began Monday, Dec. 7.
Wolf Point has a strong recent past with the 2020 district title and coming a buzzer shot away from winning the 2019 district championship.
“We’re looking to repeat,” Wolf Point coach Troy Blount said. “We have some young, hustling players.”
