Because Dana “Sam” Buckles and Kaci Wallette tied for 13th place with 449 votes each in last year’s election, a new election involving the two candidates is needed to determine Stafne’s replacement.

The 2022 year was a busy and successful one regarding road construction projects in northeastern Montana. Shane Mintz, district administrator for the Montana Department of Transportation in the Glendive district, noted the highlight was the work done on Highway 13 between Wolf Point and Scobey. “It was a lot of work,” Mintz noted. “It was the biggest thing for northeastern Montana.”
