Speaker Stresses Importance Of Culture


Singer Talibah Begay presented an uplifting message to South Side Elementary School students during an assembly at the school on Wednesday, April 26. Begay, who is Navajo from Shiprock, N.M., released her first album when she was only 13 years old. She released another album at the age of 14 and her third album when she was 16. She notes that she was raised with the values of the Navajo culture.

Youth Events Held In Brockton, Wolf Point


A Creators Game youth training titled “Being a Good Relative” was hosted at Brockton School April 26-28. The event was facilitated by Dr. Clayton Small in partnership with Ernie Bighorn and a Spotted Bull Recovery Resource Center COIPP grant. Jackson Up For Teen People’s Choice


Wolf Point High School graduate Breah Jackson is competing in the Teen People’s Choice category of the Miss Montana competition. The Miss Montana USA and Miss Montana Teen USA pageants are official state preliminary pageants in the Miss USA and Miss Universe competitions. Jackson’s bio on the contest website says that she is an enrolled member of the Fort Peck Assiniboine & Sioux
