March 22, 1951 Fire destroyed the house at the Fred Traeger farm ten miles east of Culbertson Tuesday morning. Cause of the fire is believed to have been an oil-burning water heater that exploded. Very few items were saved from the house.

Severe cold weather has continued for the third consecutive week in March. The blizzard of the 16th didn’t bring much new snow and temperatures were around ten above zero but the violence of the wind for nearly 48 hours made it seem like the coldest of the winter.
