Area residents are among the 1,237 students named to the 2025 fall semester dean’s List at the University of Mary, in Bismarck, N.D. To qualify for the honor, traditional undergraduate students must earn a 3.50 or better grade point average while carrying at least 12 credit hours. Earning the honor from the area are Alicyn Ator of Medicine Lake and Aleah Johnson of Medicine Lake.

The Culbertson/Froid/Bainville speech, drama and debate team had a very eventful divisional tournament in Shepherd on Saturday, Jan. 24. The team dealt with arctic cold, an unexpected evacuation during finals due to a fire and a relocation to Huntley Project High School where their coach and administration used their quick planning and organizational skills to get finals back on track. Roosevelt County commissioners conducted a meeting on Thursday, Jan. 22, with elected officials and department heads to discuss credit card policy and meal purchasing. Commissioners said the goal of the meeting was for everyone to be more careful with spending. The Culbertson School Board met in regular session on Tuesday, Jan. 20. Trustees present were Wendy Becker, vice-chair, Amber Fox, Lisa Steppler and Verlin Steppler. The Culbertson Museum board is once again hosting a Cabin Fever day on Sunday, Feb. 1. Homemade chili, chicken noodle or kneuphla soup, buns and sherbet will be offered. Funds raised will be put toward museum projects and overhead. A baked item will be available as well. The museum is located at 5860, Road 1021, on the east side of Culbertson.
