The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 69 calls from Jan. 6-13. The calls included: Jan. 6 Deputies responded to U.S. Highway 2 near Poplar to remove debris including tree branches from the road. A Poplar man who admitted to robbery after carjacking a truck and stabbing the driver on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation was sentenced last week to 57 months in prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release, U.S. Attorney Jesse Laslovich said. Very cold temperatures moved in across northeast Montana Jan. 11, with wind chills dropping below zero for most of the region. The coldest readings in the state were in the far northeast corner, said National Weather Service meteorologists in Glasgow. The Farmers Union Lumber Co. is excited about being in the process of changing to an Orgill hardware store. Since re-establishing itself in September, the Wolf Point Booster Club has been making strides throughout the school year. After receiving a request, the booster club conducted the hospitality room at last weekend’s AAU wrestling tournament held in Wolf Point.
