Wolf Point Hires New Music Teacher
The Wolf Point School Board unanimously approved the hiring of Michael Keefner as the new junior high/high school music teacher during its meeting on July 21.
Keefner will be the school district’s three music teacher in three years.
“They are very hard to find and not everybody has music teachers,” Wolf Point Superintendent of Schools David Perkins said. “This guy has some musical talent.”
Keefner’s teaching career includes three years in Williston, N.D., four years at East Fairview Elementary School, two years in Bainville and a year at Noxon.
Also during the meeting, trustees accepted the resignation of junior high paraprofessional Jonissa Charette and acknowledged a name correction for Mark Holman.
Trustees approved the 2025-2026 bus route and also gave permission for the Lustre elementary bus route to enter the Wolf Point School District.
Trustees approved all questions on the Montana School Board Association’s board of directors’ delegate assembly online survey.
Trustees approved a resolution to sell or dispose of school property. The items included 73 desktops, 35 monitors, 27 Chromebooks, six boxes of reading books, seven computer tables and 10 track starting blocks.
Work on the new track surface at the high school is scheduled to begin this week.
The board accepted a bid of $1.495 million for a post-tensioned track by Tarkett Sports on June 4.
The work on the track will include taking the asphalt off and have post-tension concrete. That option basically has a guarantee that it won’t crack for 60 years, but it will need to be resurfaced about every eight to 10 years.
