Visitors Make Impacts In Community

Bill Huebner of the Mosaic Church in Littleton, Colo., didn’t think he was going to make it to Wolf Point this summer to assist with Gospel Fellowship Church’s Vacation Bible Adventure.
Huebner treasured his time last summer in Wolf Point when volunteers performed community service including improvements to a building’s appearance and teaching students during evenings.
“It’s the only time of the year we get to connect with the Natives up here,” Huebner explained. “Being able to share Jesus with the kids, it’s very special.”
Huebner, who works for a national delivery service in Colorado, was disappointed because he didn’t believe he was going to get the time off in order to spend time in Wolf Point this summer.
His fortune changed when he made a delivery the week before. When a guy saw Huebner arrive to make a delivery, he said, “You saved my life. I’m so glad you’re here.” That man, who is employed by Amtrak, told Huebner that he needed to head out to Wolf Point in order to bring signs that read “Wolf Point” for the train.
“I was carrying those signs all day on my truck,” Huebner said.
Once Huebner returned to the company’s office, he asked his supervisor about the requested days off again. This time, his request was approved.
“I believe it was God’s will for me to come here,” Huebner said while at Gospel Fellowship last week.
During his time in Wolf Point, he helped at the food pantry on Tuesday, July 22. The food pantry served more than 900 people and provided 7,000 pounds of food that day.
“It was a constant flow,” Huebner said.
At night services, Huebner helped out where ever he was needed. On Tuesday, he portrayed Jonah being swallowed by a great fish. Other nights, he was a stage mascot for the students to enjoy. “They needed a stage mascot, so I decided to be a mascot,” Huebner laughed.
