Daniel Sears, a senior, and Del Eymard, a sophomore, claimed first place at the recent Class B speech and drama meet in the category of humorous theater.
They felt that their best performance of the season came during the finals round at the state meet. Their performance featured variations of Hansel and Gretal.

The Montana Student Volunteer Award is presented through a partnership between the Governor’s Office of Community Service and Montana Campus Compact campuses. Honorees of this annual award are college students across the state who demonstrate dedication to service in their communities while pursuing a college degree or certificate.

Every year, Reach Higher Montana holds a competition to allow students to use their creative side to win scholarship dollars.
The competition asks students to design a sticker that helps pass along the message to fellow students to find their path after high school. The top two designers will each receive a $1,500 scholarship. The third and fourth place designers will each receive a $1,000 scholarship.

Katrina Porras doesn’t start her day like most Wolf Point High School seniors, but she has learned a lot during her early morning hours.
Prior to coming to school at 11 a.m., Porras works at Agland East. She has been working at the business as mainly a cashier for nearly two years.
“I do a little bit of everything,” Porras said of her duties.

The Nakoda Dakota Oyate Youth Council is hosting a Valentine’s Day talent show Sunday, Feb. 13, at the Chrome in Poplar. The event will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Competition is open to all comers and prizes will be awarded.
NDO is a group of youth leaders from across the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Reservation. They represent each of their communities and their schools.

If interested in joining the club, dues are $100 annually. The club meets every first and third Thursday of each month at the Good Shepherd Church.
