Red Hawks Look To Build On Experience During Football Season
The Froid-Medicine Lake Red Hawks are heading into the new season with experience on their side and hopes of turning the work of the past several years into a trip to the playoffs.
Head coach Michael Reiter said the Red Hawks have spent the last few seasons building their skills and becoming stronger as a team. This year, a group of experienced returning players will be counted on to help continue that progress.
Returning starters Rylan Young, Eddie Orozco, Teegan Fossum and Owen Logan will be back for the Red Hawks this season. Young, Orozco and Fossum make up the team’s senior class and will bring veteran leadership to the field.
Carson Kelm and Aaron Orozco also return after seeing significant playing time last season, adding more experience to the Red Hawks’ roster.
Reiter believes that experience will be one of the team’s biggest strengths this season.
The RedHawks have spent the past few years developing their skills and building the strength of the program, giving this year’s team a foundation to build on as the season gets underway.
With the season still young, Reiter said the team will take its areas of improvement as they come. Rather than focusing on one weakness early, the RedHawks will use practices and games to see where more work is needed.
“We are still early in our season, so seeing what we need to work on will come with time,” Reiter said.
For the Red Hawks, one goal is already clear: make the playoffs while continuing to grow together as a team.
Getting there will not be easy. Reiter expects competition throughout the Eastern Conference to once again provide a challenge.
“The whole East Conference is always a tough challenge,” Reiter said.
With experienced players returning and several seasons of work behind them, the Red Hawks are ready to see how far that experience can carry them this fall.
