Wolf Point Stampede Kicks Off 103rd Year
For 102 years, the people of the Wolf Point area have celebration in great fashion the Wolf Point Wild Horse Stampede. Starting on Wednesday, July 8, the Stampede will take place at the Marvin Brookman Stadium and throughout the community again for the 103rd celebration.
The fourth annual Wild Horse Ranch Rodeo will kick off the excitement with action starting at 6 p.m. Following the event, a concert featuring Chris Bohenek will follow the ranch rodeo.
The three-day Stampede rodeo will run on Thursday through Saturday. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. with rodeos beginning at 7 p.m. each night. Special nights are Tough Enough to Wear Pink on Thursday, Patriot Night on Friday and Agland Co-op Honors Night on Saturday. After the rodeo on Saturday, a concert featuring Jaden Decker is planned at the Wild Horse Saloon.
The extremely popular Tough Enough to Wear Pink golf tournament is Thursday, beginning at 10 a.m., at the Wolf Point Airport Golf Course. The all-class reunion is slated for Thursday afternoon from 1 to 5:30 p.m.
The two-day Stars and Stripes Parade on Main Street begins at 1 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
The Wolf Point Area Museum will conduct its annual benefit breakfast from 7-11 a.m. on Saturday.
A wide variety of vendors will share their items during Art in the Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Earlier that morning, NEMHS will sponsor the Human Stampede at 8 a.m. After Saturday’s parade, Miss Rodeo Montana will conduct a stick horse rodeo at the Faith Home lawn.
The annual animal fun day, sponsored by the Spotted Bull Treatment Center, begins at 9 a.m. on Thursday at the Wadopana grounds.
The carnival opens at 4 p.m. on Thursday through Saturday. The famous Catholic hamburger stand will be open throughout. They will serve from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
