Bainville, Froid Plan July Fourth Celebrations
The towns of Bainville and Froid are each planning big celebrations for the country’s 250th anniversary.
Bainville’s three-day celebration will start Friday, July 3, with Burgers in the Park scheduled from 4-6 p.m. A class reunion gathering is planned for 5-9 p.m.
Fun will include a prairie golf tournament at 5 p.m. and Bingo in the gazebo from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Once dusk hits, a movie will be viewed in the park. Be sure to bring your own lawn chair.
On Saturday, July 4, Bainville’s activities will start with a fireman’s breakfast from 7:30-9:30 a.m.
A parade will start at 10 a.m. A kids’ mini parade will begin at 11:45 a.m.
A veterans appreciation salute and a mayor’s speech will take the stage at 11:30 a.m.
Family fun in the afternoon will include mini golf, crafts, a bubble station, wagon rides, a petting zoo and cards at the Legion.
There will be a power wheels race at 12:30 p.m., a lawn mover race at 1 p.m. and a cornhole tournament starting at 2 p.m.
Participants can enjoy a tri-tip steak dinner from 5-7 p.m. A community softball game is planned for 6 p.m.
Fireworks are scheduled at dusk. Activities on Sunday will include a 5K walk/run, church service in the park and a community pot-luck meal.
In Froid, the parade lineup on the Fourth of July will begin at 4:30 p.m. The parade starts at 5 p.m.
Prizes will be awarded for best entry and best 250th American themed parade.
A community barbecue will start around 6 p.m. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided for the potluck meal.
Fireworks, hosted by Dana Hartshorn, will start around 9:30 p.m.
