Area FFA students were honored during the state convention in Great Falls held last week.

Students earning state degrees from Culbertson were Logan Berwick, Ayden Ator, Catherine Donaldson, Kaden Featherston, Ian Snyder and Ivy Colvin. Also earning the honor from the area were Lilly Johnson and Cody Olson of Froid, Hailey Berwick, Lila Butikofer, Addison Hansen and Rowan Wilson of Bainville.

Culbertson’s farm business and management team featuring Felixe Becker, Colvin, Ator and Payton Labatte placed 13th.

Culbertson’s parliamentary procedure team ranked 15th. Team members were Labatte, Colvin, Becker, Josie Simonsen, Ator and Cal Steppler.

Becker reached the gold level for agri science.

The ag sales team took 16th place. Members were Becker, Steppler, Colvin and Donaldson. The horse evaluation team of Lauren Rumsey, Donaldson, Anna Steppler and Simonsen took 29th place.

Culbertson’s livestock evaluation team of Kaden Featherston, Kalia Featherston, C. Steppler and Becker took 24th.

The mechanics team of Logan Berwick, Snyder, C. Steppler and Bella Petersen placed 30th. The agronomy team of Emma Berwick, Ator, Labatte and Kalia Featherston took 39th place.

Bainville’s Hansen earned a gold award for taking fifth place in national chapter application.

Wilson placed seventh in agronomy, seventh in farm agribusiness management, earned a star for being an ag placement finalist and received a bronze as a proficiency award recipient.

Tenley Berwick was recognized as the Big Muddy District Star Greenhand.

Bainville’s team of Wilson, Tenley Berwick, Scarlet Mahoney and Azure Mahoney earned fifth place in agronomy. Azure Mahoney took eighth in floriculture.

Wilson earned second place in individual sweepstakes for placing well in four different CDEs. He placed in the top 12 in three of the divisions.

Bainville’s chapter earned 12th place in team sweepstakes. Bainville’s teams took eighth in floriculture, ninth in ag sales, eighth in farm agribusiness management, eighth in parliamentary procedures and ninth in mechanics.

Froid’s ag sales team took 35th place. Olson placed 47th and Johnson was 51st individually.

Johnson took 51st in agronomy and Froid’s team placed 30th.

Froid was 50th as a team in mechanics. Jake Nordlund placed 111th.

In farm agribusiness management, Froid was 34th as a team. Placers included Haven Martensen in 70th and Olson in 92nd.

Froid placed 30th as a team in livestock evaluation. Ally Johnson took 91st and Olson was 105th. Froid placed 48th as a team in vet science.
