Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report

 

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 104 calls from March 31-April 6.

The calls included: March 31

Deputies responded to the Froid area where a female requested assistance with an eviction. Deputies referred her to the justice of the peace in Culbertson to start the process.

April 1

Two deputies assisted Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice with a report of an attempted murder in Poplar. A male was shot in the shoulder area. EMS arrived to provide treatment. Deputies assisted FPTDLJ in looking for suspects. At 8:09 p.m., an adult male called and turned himself in. FPTDLJ, deputies and Montana Highway Patrol made the arrests. Deputies helped collect evidence and turned it over to FPTDLJ.

Deputies responded took a complaint on April 1, regarding a copper theft in Poplar. Owners asked deputies to keep an eye on the building. Law enforcement set up a hidden camera at the building. On April 2, an app notified deputies that someone was at the property. Deputies found a female and male in the area. Ira Darnell Jr., 42, and Avery Azure, 26, were arrested for trespassing. Upon Azure’s arrest, suspected meth was discovered. She was also charged with criminal possession of dangerous drugs.

April 2

Deputies responded to Brockton where an adult female said her two adult sons were going to fight. Deputies had the males go their separate ways.

Deputies responded to the Homestead Annex where an unresponsive person was laying on the floor. He was face down in a pool of blood because of a bloody nose. He said he got punched. FPTDLJ arrested a juvenile male.

April 4

Deputies responded to Poplar’s city limits where a reporting female party said she was sprayed with mace by another female. She provided a description of the

female.

April 5

Deputies assisted the Wolf Point ambulance and FPTDLJ for an elderly female who was unresponsive at a residence. Ambulance services conducted CPR. The deputy coroner was called for the natural cause death.

While patrolling in Bainville, deputies saw a vehicle being operated in the parking lot of Gracie’s Bar. The driver was arrested for being intoxicated.

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s report activity statistics for the past week were: Wolf Point city limits, 13; Wolf Point Rural, one; Wolf Point FPHA areas, six; Poplar city limits, 14; Poplar rural, 13; Poplar FPHA Airport Addition, two; Poplar FPHA all other, 11; Culbertson town, six; Culbertson rural, eight; Bainville town, five; Bainville rural, four; Froid rural, two; Williams County, one; Brockton town, five; Brockton rural, five; Fort Kipp, seven; total, 104.
