Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report
The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 130 calls from Feb. 16-23.
The calls included the following: Feb. 17
Deputies responded to a disorderly conduct/fight report in Fort Kipp. Reporting party said that a female had assaulted them. Deputies saw a female running from the residence. Annette Chopper, 30, was arrested for tribal contempt of court, partner/family member assault and simple assault.
Feb. 18
Deputies received a report from north of Wolf Point regarding a vehicle being stuck in the snow. The vehicle’s occupants were two males and a female. They were transported to city limits.
Feb. 19 Deputies responded to Main Street Grocery in Poplar where a female slipped and bumped her head. She got transported to Poplar hospital’s emergency room. She was cited for public intoxication.
At the Roosevelt County Detention Center, guards found drug paraphernalia when booking an adult male on a Montana Highway Patrol warrant. The item field tested positive for meth. Matthew Gustafson, 39, was arrested on authority of the warrant and being in the possession of drug paraphernalia.
Deputies assisted the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice and Poplar ambulance after the report of a stabbing/assault in Poplar. FPTDLJ detained the female victim for medical assistance and arrested another female.
Feb. 20
Deputies responded to the Poplar hotel to remove an intoxicated male. The male was arrested for disorderly conduct and taken to the tribal jail.
Feb. 21
Deputies and FPTDLJ responded to the Wolf Point city limits where it was reported that a male was drinking and arguing with his wife. FPTDLJ placed the male under arrest.
Feb. 22
Deputies assisted FPTDLJ with a domestic violence call at the Homestead Inn. A woman was bleeding from injuries. She said she was hit in the face and kicked on the back. Thomas Martell Sr., 36, was arrested for partner or family member assault.
Feb. 23
Deputies received a report in Bainville from a reporting party who said someone else’s dogs were attacking his dogs. Deputies took the complaint.
