Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 142 calls from Jan. 19-26.

The calls included the following: Jan. 19

Deputies responded to the Poplar Cultural Center for a report of an intoxicated male being present. He was instructed to leave the area.

Jan. 20

During a security check of the Black Gold Casino near the stateline, deputies saw an adult male who is on probation. The male’s probation officer in North Dakota was notified.

Deputies responded to the Fort Peck Community College’s Greet the Dawn building regarding a male laying in the yard with an unopened beer can. He was unsteady and said he was drinking. He was cited into tribal court for public intoxication.

During a walk through of the Gold Dust Casino near the stateline, deputies saw an adult female playing a machine. The female had an arrest warrant out of Valley County. She was arrested on authority of the warrant and taken to Roosevelt County jail.

Jan. 22

Deputies were requested to come to the Fort Peck tribal court regarding a male who had an active tribal warrant. He was taken to the tribal adult jail.

Jan. 23

Deputies went to Poplar for a report regarding a violation of a temporary restraining order for an adult male. A female felt the male broke into her home. Deputies saw fresh footprints in the snow near a bedroom window. A recording from a security camera was provided. The information was forwarded to tribal prosecutors.

Jan. 24

Deputies and the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice responded to Fort Kipp’s tribal housing for a report of a restraining order violation. A female said an adult male came back to the house and broke a window. The information was forwarded to tribal prosecutors. Deputies and FPTDLJ responded to the Waterhole bar’s empty parking lot where two males were fighting. One of the males was arrested by FPTDLJ.

Jan. 26

Deputies responded to Culbertson’s city limits to assist a male who was having health issues. Deputies provided assistance until the ambulance arrived.

In addition, the RCSO had the following activity: Wolf Point city, 34; Wolf Point rural, five; Wolf Point FPHA areas, three; Poplar city, 19; Poplar rural, seven; Poplar new bridge area, four; Poplar FPHA Airport Addition, one; Poplar FPHA, all other, 14; Culbertson town, 18; Culbertson rural, one; Bainville town, seven; Bainville rural, 14; Bainville town, seven; Bainville rural, 14; Froid town, five; Brockton rural, two; Fort Kipp, two; total, 142.
