Area FFA Students Earn Honors At Meet

Culbertson, Bainville and Froid FFA students came away with high honors from the district mechanics and agronomy competitions held in Scobey on Monday, Jan. 19.

Culbertson’s mechanics team took first place and qualified for the state meet. Team members included Ian Snyder, Bella Petersen, Logan Berwick and Cal Steppler.

Individually, Snyder took fourth and Petersen placed eighth. Berwick was 10th and Steppler took 14th.

For the JV mechanics team, Cord Snyder placed 13th, Sander Williams was 23rd and Izack Rumsey took 36th. Culbertson’s JVs were seventh as a team.

Culbertson earned seventh and qualified for state in agronomy. Team members were Steppler, Ayden Ator, Emma Berwick and Kalia Featherston.

Individually, Steppler led the way by taking 13th. Also placing were Ator in 24th, Berwick in 33rd and Featherston in 40th.

The JV team took fourth for agronomy. Individuals placing were Felixe Becker in sixth, Payton Labatte in seventh and Hector Yellow Owl in 26th.

Bainville’s students also fared well in the mechanics’ competition. Rowan Wilson was the individual champion. Lane Giese placed seventh. Parker Berwick took 27th and Soren Batt was 32nd. Bainville placed fifth as a team.

For Bainville’s JVs in mechanics, Jasper Sorenson earned third and Rylan Iverson was fifth. Also placing were Copeland Anderson in seventh, Hatchshure Wills in 12th, Haedyn Wills in 13th, Kannan Hofer in 31st and Waylen Mottl in 34th.

Bainville earned top honors as a team for agronomy. Placing for the Bulldogs were Wilson in first, Tenley Berwick in third, Scarlet Mahoney in fourth and Azure Mahoney in fifth. Placing for the JV level were Giese in third, Iversen in fifth, Berwick in 12th and Chandi Johnson in 13th.

Froid’s varsity teams placed fifth in mechanics and eighth in agronomy.

Placing for mechanics were Jake Nordlund in 16th, Eddy Orozco in 18th, Owan Logan in 20th and Vincient Williams in 34th.

Froid’s Ally Johnson placed ninth in agronomy. Also placing were Camri Salvevold in 27th, Rylan Young in 32nd and Lilly Johnson in 40th.

Froid’s Eva Houchen took first at the JV level. Also earning honors were Jordyn Breuer in fourth, Joelle Davidson in eighth, Keira Stentoft in ninth and Angie Clark in 11th.
