Brockton Teams Defeat Red Hawks
Brockton’s girls’ basketball team held off Froid/Lake, 4838, in District 2C action on Friday, Jan. 9.
The game was deadlocked at 6-6 in the first quarter, but Brockton tallied 18 points in the second period for a 2415 lead. The Warriors held a 38-22 advantage at the end of three quarters of play.
Tamryn Bauer led Brockton’s attack with 21 points. Marlene Fish and Quintana Young added nine points each.
Froid/Lake’s top scorers were Atley Jensen with eight, Isabelle Nordwick with seven and Avery Johnson with six points.
Also scoring were Mira Bakken with five, Keira Stentoft with four, Leah Murray with three, Laytyn Davidson with three, Joelle Davidson with one and Jordyn Breuer with one.
Brockton’s boys scored a 78-39 conference victory against Froid/Lake.
The Warriors jumped out to a 21-9 lead in the first quarter. Jarid Fast Horse connected on two three-pointers in the period. Adding threepoint shots were Tefton Bear, Colter Nygard and Miles Boxer Jr.
Brockton held a 38-22 halftime advantage. The Warriors struck for 24 points in the third quarter to put the margin at 62-30. Boxer scored 10 points including two three-pointers in the period.
Brockton’s top scorers in the contest were Fast Horse with 20, Boxer with 17 and Bear with 13.
Eddie Orozco led the Red Hawks with eight points.
Rounding out Froid/ Lake’s scoring were Carson Aasheim with six, Rylan Young with five, Aaron Orozco with four, Jacob Nordlund with four, Teegan Fossum with four, Carsen Kelm with three, Cody Olson with three and Easton Marottek with two.
