A proposal to address distracted driving on Montana roadways passed the state Senate on Saturday, March 1, following an emotional floor debate.
Senate Bill 359, which bill sponsor Sen. Sara Novak, D-Anaconda, is calling “Chloe’s Law,” would make Montana the final state to adopt distracted driving laws.
The bill would make holding or using a mobile device while driving illegal and supports

Audiences of all ages will get a fresh look at an age-old favorite on March 14 when the Missoula Children’s Theatre and more than 50 local students present Hercules.
The local cast features Emma Henry as Hercules. Also featured are the six philosophers Androcles (Parker Schmidt), Socrates (Jaclynne Taberna), Aristotle (Aubrey Lee), Zeus (Nash Petersen), Hera (Brailey Bigler) and Helen of Troy

In response to recent layoffs of federal employees, the Montana Department of Labor and Industry is stepping in with a statewide Rapid Response Event on March 12 to guide affected workers back into the workforce.
“Montanans — whether loggers, miners, store clerks, or federal employee — deserve a strong partner to help them navigate the uncertainty of a layoff,” said Commissioner Sarah

Deputies assisted the Wolf Point Police Department and the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice for a report of a fight at Dad’s Bar between two females. One adult female said she was assaulted by the other. The suspect had run out the back door.

Deputies responded to the Buckhorn Bar
The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 89 calls from March 3-10.

Deputies assisted the Wolf Point Police Department and the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice for a report of a fight at Dad’s Bar between two females. One adult female said she was assaulted by the other. The suspect had run out the back door.

Lustre’s boys’ basketball team fell to Scobey, 64-41, in the Eastern C championship game held in Sidney on Saturday, March 8. As the second seed from the Eastern C, the Lions will compete at the Class C state tournament in Butte this week.
In the divisional title game, Scobey gained a 7-0 lead but Lustre fought back to 9-7 on a three-point play by Johnslee Pierre.
The Spartans went out
