The 2025 Montana hunting regulations hit the shelves last month in advance of the new license year that started March 1, and hunters may have noticed a change. For years, the hunting regulations contained pages for license or permit drawing odds from the previous year. The intent of these charts was to show hunters what the odds of drawing particular licenses or permits were from year to year.

Person Dead After Brandishing Gun At Courthouse

One person is dead after local and county law enforcement responded to a threat at the Lewis and Clark County Courthouse in Helena Friday afternoon, according to authorities. At around 1:30 p.m., Helena police officers and Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the county courthouse, 228 E. Broadway St., after numerous 911 calls reported that a woman was brandishing a handgun.

Gymnasts Place At Jamestown Meet

The Winter Escape gymnastics meet was held in Jamestown, N.D. on Feb. 15-16. Eastern Montana Gymnastics had 11 event championships in their age groups. In bronze, River Darby placed first on vault and floor out of all 51 gymnasts. Maysen Sikveland was first on vault and balance beam for her age group in silver, while teammate Frankie Darby was first on balance beam and floor. Gold gymnasts

Bainville’s senior Elsie Wilson and junior Hailey Berwick have each been voted to the Class C All-State girls’ basketball team. Wilson and Berwick are each repeat selections from last year. Former Froid/Lake standout Sydney Dethman has been voted to the Frontier Conference’s All-Conference women’s basketball team. The senior was also selected the Frontier Conference Newcomer of the Year. She averaged 16.1 points and 5.7 rebounds this season. She ranked second in the conference for points per game, fourth in field goal percentage and ninth in free throw shooting percentage.
