Commissioners Discuss Roads During Meeting

Roosevelt County commissioners approved to have a pavement condition index survey conducted on the McCabe highway during their meeting on Tuesday, May 20. The survey indicates the general condition of a pavement section. Cost for the survey is $9,470. The road has seen a good amount of wear and tear due to increased oil activity along with heavier farm equipment. John Bach of Interstate Engineering

The doubles team consisting of Lauren Rodenberg and Riley Schwarzrock defeated a team from Conrad. The doubles team featuring Hailey GrayHawk and McKinlee Paulson won a match over a team from Troy.

Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 123 calls from May 20-26. The calls included the following: May 20 Deputies responded to a dispute in Culbertson regarding two males arguing over equipment. One of the males, Richard Damon, 44, of Poplar was arrested on authority of a warrant and taken to Roosevelt County jail. May 21 Deputies assisted the Fort Peck Tribes Department

Posters are starting to appear around town for seasonal powwows, rodeos and other events in the Culbertson area. Frontier Days Rodeo is set for Friday and Saturday, June 13 and 14, at the Culbertson Saddle Club. Events will include bull riding. bareback, saddle bronc, steer wrestling, barrel racing, team roping, ladies breakaway, junior barrels and junior breakaway, as well as wild calf races
