Wolves Score At State Track Meet


Two Wolf Point athletes earned honors during the Class B state track meet held in Missoula.
AnnaLeigh Matejovsky, an eighth-grader, cleared 9-6 to place fourth in the pole vault.
Amya Martinez, a junior, earned sixth place in the shot put with a best of 35-08.
Poplar’s Kaniel Ricker came close to placing in the triple jump as the senior was eighth at 40-08.
Having personal bests for the Indians were Walker Burshia with a mark of 44-04 in the shot put and Journey Gourneau with a time of 12:36.35 in the 3200.
The top three boys’ teams were Loyola/Sacred Heart with 58, Florence/Carlton with 53 and Columbus with 45 points.
Topping the girls’ standings were Loyola/Sacred Heart with 95, Huntley Project with 71, Shelby with 34 and Broadwater with 34 points.
District 2B athletes winning state titles included Fairview’s boys’ 1600-meter relay team and Malta’s Denvyr Tuss in the shot put.
