33 Volunteers Receive Awards On 33rd Anniversary Of Airmen Memorial

Thirty-three Blaine County residents and former residents were honored in a presentation ceremony on May 25. Staged at the Airmen Memorial in Harlem, the assembly watched as Brigadier General Trace N. Thomas conferred upon these volunteers, the United States Air Force Commander’s Public Service Award. The Lustre Christian High School’s annual meeting was held on Sunday evening. The board announced they have hired a social studies teacher and a music teacher. They are still looking for an English teacher and an administrator. The alumni association nominated Levi Brown to be vice president and Jennifer Reddig to be assistant secretary/ treasurer. The Culbertson School Board of Trustees met in regular session on Tuesday, May 20, at 6:30 p.m. Trustees present included Ian Walker, chair, Wendy Becker, Amber Fox, Chris Petersen and Lisa Steppler. Representatives were Nicole Simonsen, Mike Olson, Janessa Parenteau and Lora Finnicum. Visitors were recognized. Newly elected trustee Verlin Steppler was sworn in. Walker called for reorganization

Fire Department To Hold Breakfast

The annual fundraiser breakfast for the Culbertson Volunteer Fire Department will be held at the Culbertson School lunchroom Saturday, June 14, from 7 to 10:30 a.m. A free will donation is sought to help support department activities. Donations can also be sent to PO Box 689, Culbertson, MT 59218.

Area Golfers Compete In Wolf Point Course Improvement Fundraiser

The team of Shane Patacsil and Shane Patacsil Jr. earned top honors at the Wolf Point Airport Golf Course’s course improvement fundraiser during the weekend. The winning team had an overall score of 130 in the two-man best ball tournament. They shot a 66 on Saturday and a 64 on Sunday despite very windy conditions. Wolf Point posted a 2412 softball win over Poplar during home softball play on Sunday, June 8. After the first inning ended in a 7-7 deadlock, the Yellowjackets shut down Poplar in the top of the second behind the pitching of Marley Moran.
